Mini LaManchas!
Because of our love of both the Nigerian Dwarf and LaMancha breeds we have decided to give Mini-LaMancha a try here. This is currently a small project for us, time will tell us where it leads. We have our very first home grown doeling this year that we are retaining. She is cute as a button and ever so sweet!
Mini-Lamancha are a cross of standard LaMancha goats and Nigerian Dwarf. The Mini-LaMancha is known for their docile, even temperament and a steady production of fairly high butterfat. So, you may be asking "why raise a Mini-breed of goats" as opposed to a standard size goat?? In recent years the standard breeds of goats have increased in size slightly, as they have been bred for increased stature in the show ring. Crossing a full size LaMancha with a Nigerian dwarf produces a smaller goat with some great perks. They can often produce two-thirds of the amount of milk that a standard LaMancha can produce while taking in about half the amount of feed as a standard LaMancha. With todays ever increasing feed costs this is a great benefit for a family wanting to produce some milk/dairy products for their family.
These mini breeds are ideal for those with small acreages. Many cities across the country now allow some miniature goats within their city limits as well. The Nigerian Dwarf influence can also expand the breeding season to include more than just fall breedings which is typical of many standard breed animals. Mini goats are often found to be easier to handle as well.
We are quickly falling in love with these little creatures. If you spend any time around them we are sure you will as well!

3 Kids Farm Isadore's Lavender (F1)
Born 4/18/22
Black with White and Brown Markings
To say we are smitten with this doe is a bit of an understatement. She is just cute, cute, cute! She is our very first F1 mini lamancha doe, and home bred as well! As you can see this one was a success, lovely doe and nice production to boot. We are also incredibly happy with the udder quality and milk production of her dam, "Violet". We feel this is a very nice start to our mini-lamancha program. We are excited to see where this takes us!
Peach Blossom Teddy (F1)
Born 4/26/23
Sire: 3 Kids Farm Heath
Dam:Treasured Sunrise TM Audrey
Teddy is an F1 mini lamancha buckling who comes to us from some dear friends at Peach Blossom Farm. His sire was a buck that originally came from our farm, 3 Kids Farm Heath. Heath is a son of Onaqui Starship McDreamy and SG 3 Kids Farm VW Ella. He is a handsome fella who we hope to utilize to start producing some F2's for our new mini lamancha program. He brings some very nice type and production to the table. We are excited to see his offspring. FOR SALE - see sale page
3 Kids Farm T Indigo
Born March 7, 2024
Black with White Markings and Tan Moonspots
Indigo is our first F2 that we have retained. Her dam, Lavender, makes a very convincing argument for keeping her....as Lavender has a beautiful attached mammary system and definitely is making us very happy in the milk department. Although Indigo isn't clipped for this picture and has her winter hair starting to grow in you can see she is a very nice young doe. She is being bred to a nigerian buck for F1 kids for this next spring.
Our Standard LaMancha Foundation Does
We have just a couple standard LaMancha does at this time. We were not always a fan of this breed.....until one entered our herd sorta unexpectedly. We were soon singing a VERY different tune about these critters. We soon found how incredibly mellow and loving this breed can be. That combined with very nice milk production and lovely sound udders definitely changed our viewpoint. Here are our girls!
Double Trouble Ranch Violet
Born 4/10/20
Chamoisee
Violet is pictured here as a first freshener. She freshened with a lovely udder and great production to boot! We could not be happier to have this gal of one of the solid "base does" of our mini lamancha herd.
Meyer's MD Ameera
Born: 3/18/22
Medium Brown
Ameera is a fun addition to our herd this year. She is a standard lamancha, who we hope will prove to be a solid base for our mini lamancha herd. It's easy to see she comes from pictures below she comes from milky lines and nice type. We couldn't be happier with this neat doe!
