Homemade Goat Milk Soap

HOMEMADE GOAT MILK SOAP!

If you are unfamiliar with goat milk soap it may be time to give it a try. Goat's milk has many stellar benefits for the skin. It's gentle cleansing action helps prevent the loss of moisture in our skin. Loss of moisture with harsh soaps causes dry, itchy, irritated skin. Goat's milk is high in B vitamins, which are the basis for good skin health. Goats milk also contains Vitamins A, C and D, which are proven to have anti-aging properties. Goat's milk is similar to our own skins PH level, so it doesn't dry out our skin or strip it of important natural bacteria and oils.
So, since we have fresh goat's milk on tap here on our farm, we decided it was time to give homemade goat's milk soap a whirl. We make our soap in small batches with fresh ingredients right here on our farm. All soaps showcase goat milk. The milk is produced by our herd of Nigerian Dwarf Dairy Goats. These little goats are known for their production of high butterfat and protein in milk, which makes it perfect for soap making. Other ingredients in our soaps vary a bit from one batch to the next, but we use such ingredients as Shea Butter, Olive oil, Coconut oil, Castor oil, Cocoa Butter and Lard produced as a byproduct of our Kunekune pigs. Due to the nature these soaps are made, expect each bar to be an individual creation. Swirls etc will be slightly different from bar to bar....but all are fun!
Our soaps are like traditional soaps in many ways, just add warm water and work it into a lather. They can be used as body soaps or at your sink for a hand soap. To help your soap last as long as possible keep it dry and allow ventilation when not in use. A soap dish that allows your soap to dry in between uses is a great idea when using goat milk soap.
People with sensitive skin or skin allergies should test soap on a small area and discontinue use if any irritation occurs.

"Fresh Squeezed"

"Fresh Squeezed" is quickly becoming a favorite. The fragrance is of freshly-squeezed lemon, honey, and orange. It has an undertone of shortbread, vanilla, and sugar. It smells like a delicious Lemon Bar....yum!!! This goat milk soap has moisturizing olive and coconut oils. "Dirty Jobs"

"Dirty Jobs" is our own soap creation. We wanted a soap that had great cleansing qualities to clean up after a hard days work. The oils in this soap were combined with ground oats and cornmeal for a slightly abrasive feel to really help give a deep clean. We used goat's milk and infused the soap with sage grown in our garden, and Peppermint, Rosemary and Bergamot essential oils. The result of this combo is a bar perfect for those of us who do "Dirty Jobs" on a daily basis. Bars are approx 4 oz (113 grams) $7.50 per bar

"Puppy Kisses"

Since we are "dog people"...it seemed only natural to develop a blend that is perfect for the canine in your life. This soap starts with goat milk and adds oils that are especially soothing and moisturizing for dogs. It contains Shea butter, Jojoba oil, Coconut oil and Olive and Castor oils. No additional colorant was added. Oatmeal was added for it's very soothing properties for a dogs skin. It is very lightly scented by the addition of Lavender, geranium and Cedarwood essential oils. These essential oils are dog safe and known to be calming and help repel fleas and ticks. Apple Sage

I love this soap! Not only does it have the wonderful properties of goat milk, it boasts cocoa butter and sweet almond oil in it's blend. It feels wonderful on your skin! The scent is that of crisp freshly picked apples mingled with sage, pineapple and coconut water. Apple Sage bars are approx 4 oz (113 grams) $7.50 each. This scent goes fast....don't miss out on it.

Cucumber Melon

Cucumber Melon has been a popular soap variety for us, and there is no question why. It is a fresh clean scent with a burst of cucumber and fresh cut melon. Cucumber melon is blend of olive oil, shea butter, coconut oil and lard, along with of course our farm fresh goat milk. Bars are approx 4 oz (113 g) and $7.50/bar.

"Husband Material"

If you are looking for a "manly" soap, look no further. This scent is inspired by Abercrombie & Fitch's Fierce cologne. It's a mix of lemon, lime, French lavender, woods, amber and white musk. Our soap has a wonderful blend of olive oil, coconut oil, sweet almond oil and shea butter. The men in your life are sure to love this one. These bars are approx 4 oz (113 g) and $7.50 each.

Grapefruit & Mint

The scent on this soap is FANTASTIC! It is a refreshing blend of fresh squeezed grapefruit with a hint of mint. It carries our signature blend of olive oil, shea butter, coconut oil and farm produced kunekune lard. These bars would be a great kitchen bar or used for shower/bathroom purposes. They have a fun touch of soap shaped grapefruit wedges and mint leaves. You won't regret trying this one!! It is approx 4 oz (113 g) per bar and $7.50/bar

Charcoal Scrub

This goat milk soap is a new experiment for us....a charcoal scrub. It contains activated charcoal, which is reported to help remove impurities and toxins from the skin. It is said to be helpful for those with acne, and even has some antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties to relieve inflammation and itchiness. We added a bit of oatmeal to help with gently exfoliating. It is unscented, has shea butter, olive oil, coconut oil and a small amount of jojoba oil so should be easy on the skin. We obviously can't promise those results, but if those skin issues are some you struggle with it may be worth trying. This was a smaller batch, as was an experiment, so if interested let us know soon! Bars are approx 4 oz (113 grams) $7.50/bar

"Kiss Me in the Dark"

This bar smells sooooo good! It was inspired by a bath and body works scent called Dark Kiss. It is a wonderful blend of warm vanilla bean, black raspberry, sweet sugar and rose petals. We made this bar with Olive oil, coconut oil, cocoa butter and sweet almond oil so it is very moisturizing and indulgent. Approx weight 4 oz (113 grams) and $7.50/bar

the "Kool Aunt"

So the "Kool Aunt"....you know the one...smells like wine breath and family secrets....yup, this one is just for her! This scent is a combo of raspberries, citrus, grapefruit, coconut and peach all together in a bubbly sangria. It's a lil spunky, just like she is. ;) Our soap is a olive oil, shea butter, coconut oil blend of pure berry bliss. Bars are approx 4 oz (131 grams) and $7.50/bar

the "Farmhouse"

We have decided this may be our favorite soap to date, kinda our "signature" soap. We LOVE it! It smells just like a warm cozy farmhouse, sweet leaf greens, fresh pine, spicy apples and earthy scent. "Central Perk"

"Central Perk" is a must for coffee lovers! This soap smells just like walking into a coffee shop! It's a sweet mix of cinnamon, nutmeg, freshly-brewed coffee, warm pastries, sugar cane, tonka bean, strawberry, and heliotrope. Our soaps showcase goat milk along with shea butter, olive oil, coconut oil and lard produced from our Kunekune pigs. Bars are approx 4 oz (113 gram) $7.50 per bar

"The Gentleman"

If you like masculine scents, this one is for you! The Gentleman is made with goat's milk, our home rendered kunekune lard, coconut oil, shea butter, avocado oil and olive oil. The fragrance is an smooth blend of bourbon and pipe tobacco, with very woodsy base notes. This is a personal favorite here. Bars are approx 4 oz (113 grams) $7.50 per bar

"Dirty Hippie"

We have had many requests for a soap that is Patchouli scented. "Dirty Hippie" is our version of that scent. In addition to patchouli, it also has some crisp green and musk notes as well. As well as goat milk, it has coconut oil, olive oil, shea butter and even a smidge of hemp oil. Hemp oil is said to benefit skin by moisturizing and soothing inflammation, potentially even reducing some fine lines and boosting collagen production. So, if you dig patchouli, give this one a try! "Squeally Clean"

These bars make a perfect stocking stuffer or gift for that special someone! They, of course, start out with our amazing goat milk. Then additions of coconut oil, lard and olive oil...and of course the cutest lil piggy bath toy!!! The mud portion has an added bonus of some Dead Sea Mud. "In a Sudsy Mooo'd"

Some adorable Highland cow bath toys take center stage in this fun soap! It is a wonderful blend of goat milk, coconut oil, lard, and olive oil. The base includes Dead sea mud and activated charcoal, both of which are wonderful for the skin. The scent on these cuties is Fruit loops scent. They are approximately 3.5 oz (99 g) and are $8 each. Just some simple suds!

We have made just a few batches for those who like it simple. They have the same great ingredients of goat milk and high quality oils. But, they do have less in the way of colorants, and essential oils are used for scent.

"Naked"

This one would be the base for this set, as it is exactly what it says...."Naked". No scents, no colorants. It still has the wonderful moisturizing oils of coconut oil, farm rendered lard and olive oil....and of course goat milk. It has wonderful clean lather without any added scent. Lemon Poppyseed

Lemon Poppyseed is another selection for those who like things simple. It has the same ingredients as our "naked" soap, so olive oil, coconut oil, lard, and of course the goat milk that was produced here on our farm. It does have the addition of Lemon essential oil and poppy seeds, so has a bit of texture for a bit of exfoliation. Bars are approx 4 oz (113 grams) and $7.50/bar

"Thick as Thieves"

If you are familiar with the legend of the 4 thieves, this blend we used may sound familiar to you. Legend has it that during the 15th centurya at the time of the plague, there were 4 thieves that would go into the homes of those sick and dying and steal their belongings. Apparently, they slathered themselves in a mixture of these essential oils....Clove, Cinnamon, Eucalyptus, Lemon and Rosemary. The thieves were able to be in contact with those who were very sick and never contracted the plague. Since then, many swear by this mixture for its immune boosting benefits.
Our soap, "Thick as Thieves", is really a simple blend, goat milk, olive oil, lard and coconut oil. It does contain the above noted essential oils and a small amount of brown oxide for a tiny amount of color. We are loving this soap at our house, all the benefits of goat milk soap and thieves oil to boot. This was a tiny batch just as an experiment. So, it you want a bar or 2 don't wait! Lavender

This is a pretty simple soap, just the basics....goat milk, coconut oil, shea butter, olive oil and home rendered lard. This has been scented with Lavender essential oil just a smidge of a purple hued brazilian clay was used for color. It was topped with just a smidge of dried lavender. Rose

Again, this is a pretty simple soap, just the basics....goat milk, coconut oil, shea butter, olive oil and home rendered lard. This has been scented with Rose essential oil just a smidge of a Rose clay was used for color. It was topped with dried Rose petals. If you like Rose essential oil....this is for you. #1 Rainy Night at the Train Station

Any self-respecting Yellowstone fan likely knows the correlation with our soap name and Yellowstone. I have to say I LOVE this scent!! We combined a rain fragrance along with one of pine, cedarwood and amber. The combo is very fresh, outdoorsy and clean. We think you will dig it! This particular bar has olive oil, coconut oil, cocoa butter and almond oil. We love how this one turned out! Bars are approx 4 oz (113 grams) and $7.50/bar

#2 "Spitfire"

The scent of this soap is in our opinion, just a lil saucy....like Beth. Hence the name, "Spitfire". It is a blend of floral, coconut and citrus in a base of musk and sandalwood. #3. "Branded"

We had a lot of fun with the creation of this bar! It is a woodsy fragrance with notes of lavender, vanilla, and musk. We even tried our hand at stamping on this one. It carries a stamp of our farm's brand, the A3. It is as always made with our wonderful goat's milk and a host of other ingredients including olive oil, our farm raised kunekune rendered lard, coconut oil, shea butter, and avocado oil. We named it "Branded", but it definitely does NOT smell like our cow herd that has carried this brand.
