Milking time at Kota Swiss Farm

We come from strong farming roots. Both Paul and Janel are from farming families, and both have a background in dairy farming. Janel grew up on a Registered Brown Swiss Dairy is South Dakota. Paul also grew up on his family's farm, starting his own dairy cattle operation in 1983. Although no longer milking cows, he continues to farm in Idaho. Over the years Paul has also raised Angus cattle, pinto beans and alfalfa hay.
We have been blessed with 3 amazing boys - Lukas, Logan and Layne. We could not be more proud of the amazing young men they are becoming. We feel very fortunate to be raising them on our farm. In our opinion, there is no better place to grow and learn many life lessons. The boys have been active in 4-H and have shown beef cattle, goats, pigs, sheep, dogs and done many misc. projects as well. We enjoy camping and outdoor activities on our time off, and just hanging out with the boys.
Missing her dairy background, Janel started a herd of Nigerian Dwarf dairy goats. We do have a few LaMancha and are working on mini-Lamancha as well. Our dairy goats are on DHIA testing, linear appraisal and we have done a bit of showing. Hopefully, many more shows will be in our future as well.
In addition to our goat herd, we also raise Welsh Pembroke Corgis. Our oldest son, Lukas, purchased our first Corgi to show in obedience and agility. She very quickly had us all wrapped around her little paw. We were hooked on our corgis. Our pack has now grown to include Cricket, Maple, Sadie, Zip and Cisco.
Kunekune pigs started out as an experiment...and we LOVED them! They are now a permanent farm fixture. Check out the "Kunekune pigs!" tab to learn more.
